Sarah
O’Keefe is a Reiki Master and practitioner. First becoming
interested in Reiki in 2002 and after benefiting personally from
many treatments, Sarah received her Reiki I attunement in June 2003.
In February 2004 she received her Reiki II attunement enabling her
to become a Reiki practitioner. She then followed this in the summer
of 2005 by receiving her Reiki III and Master attunements.
In
2005, Sarah attained a “Certificate in Counselling Skills”
and plans to follow this by studying for a Diploma enabling her
to practice as a qualified counsellor.
Sarah’s
professional background is in Pharmacy. Qualifying as a Pharmacist
in 1990, she worked in the retail sector for 10 years. At present,
she is a Non-Practising Pharmacist member of the Royal Pharmaceutical
Society of GB. Having always been fascinated by “health”
and more recently with the holistic view of health, she believes
that complementary therapies such as Reiki can be used alongside
conventional medicine if necessary, to promote a healthy and balanced
Mind, Body and Spirit.
Sarah is a member of the UK Reiki Federation and adheres to their
comprehensive Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Established
in 1999 the UK Reiki Federation is an independent association and
a national umbrella organisation for education, training and guidance
in the public practice of Reiki.
In
May 2006, Sarah attended the first “Healing in Hospitals”
course run by Angie Buxton-King, one of the fore runners in this
area. At clients' request, Sarah is available to do treatments within
the hospital setting.
Sarah
is currently working as a Reiki practitioner and teacher in the
Caversham area of Reading.
